A loggerhead sea turtle was found on the coast of Myrtle Beach over a year ago. She was malnourished and covered in barnacles, she had to get surgery for cataracts. Now she has returned to her former glory, and she is returning to her home. Everyone involved in the recovery of this majestic animal watched as Briar waded toward the ocean.
“For some reason, everyone has some sort of connection to sea turtles,” Dittloff said while smiling.
“It’s not every day that you get to see a sea turtle in person, especially if you’re just visiting the Charleston area. We really hope they walk away with a greater appreciation to protect our oceans.”
